One of my favorite places is the East End of Long Island. Before it got discovered and became oh, so popular by the glitterati, I used to go to my parents home and use it as a base to explore the whole island - a long strip of land from east to west. If I'd felt lost I's simply follow the sun and would invariably find my way back to a main road. This is ancient history with the reliability of google maps. My daughter grew up spending her summers at the beach. Therefore, it felt so natural, since my parents had long since sold their home to book an airbnb for a few days so we could take up where we left off and explore the Island again. Here are some memories we collected.

On our way we stopped of at the Frick Estate in Roslyn, LI. It was designed by Marian Coffin, a woman who graduated from MIT in 1904 with a degree in landscape architecture!

On our way home we stopped at The Lobster Inn restaurant that's been a family favorite for generations. We sat on the water during the meal and found this amazing sunset as we were leaving.
