The Costume Institute at the MET outdid itself with its current show, Through the Looking Glass. Its display of Chinese Inspired Costume was beyond my expectations and simply beyond words. So I am hoping to convey its spender through the eye of the camera.
A person working at the MET said this show was better attended then Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty retrospective which was shown right after his death and broke show records. Having attended both exhibits I understand why they are such hits. But through the Looking Glass is the icing on the cake!
I didn't expect to like it but was overcome by both the enormity of magnificent costumes and how the show was both lit and laid out.
